Ms. Schano has over 30 years of executive-level experience in the assessment of quality and compliance within health care delivery systems. She joined Managed Healthcare Unlimited (MHU) in 2003. She leads multidisciplinary teams conducting routine and focused surveys and has been integrally involved in policy studies on mental health parity, post claims underwriting/health coverage rescission, and reconstructive surgery. In addition to managing MHU’s research design, statistical analysis, and database functions, Ms. Schano oversees the analysis of health plan compliance with reporting and access requirements, and manages the California Timely Access Regulation Annual Report Review. As a certified HEDIS NCQA compliance auditor, she gained extensive experience in comparing health plan quality benchmarks to HEDIS data nationwide.

Prior to joining MHU, Ms. Schano was vice president for development and lead HEDIS auditor at HealthcareData.com for 11 years where she led health care analysts, statisticians, and programmers in diverse research projects, including projects involving health policy analysis. Ms. Schano earned both her M.A. degree in educational research methodology and her B.S. in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.
