Managed Healthcare Unlimited, Inc. (MHU) is pleased to announce the appointment of new officers and the addition of new consultants that have expanded the capabilities of the MHU team.

Chrissy Hsieh, MD, JD has been appointed as our new Medical Director. Dr. Hsieh will provide clinical guidance to the medical survey teams assessing compliance with mental health parity and addiction equity regulations. Dr. Hsieh’s rich managed care background includes practicing as a board-certified family practice physician in a managed care environment and serving as a medical consultant and expert witness for the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) for many years.  

Cindy Allen-Fedor, RN, MPA, CPHQ has assumed the position of Director for Clinical Affairs. She has extensive expertise in Quality Management and Utilization Management.  Ms. Fedor has been an NCQA Surveyor since 1996 and is a member of the NCQA faculty. Ms. Fedor also managed an acute care hospital’s ambulatory service network.

Bruce Hoffman, MBA, PhD will serve as MHU’s Director for Survey Operations and as Survey Team Lead in medical surveys. Dr. Hoffman is a former regulator for the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, and has held executive compliance positions in a variety of health plan settings. In recent years, he has assisted a myriad of health care organizations with their development and implementation of regulatory compliance, internal audit, and fraud, waste and abuse prevention programs.

Its current contract with DMHC involves conducting regulatory surveys of full service and specialty managed care plans. Over the years, members of the MHU staff have created compliance guidelines and survey instruments that have become the standard industrywide.
